HDD Encryption Setting: Setting the HDD Encryption Function

You can specify whether or not to use the HDD encryption function. When using the HDD encryption function, you need to set an encryption password.
The HDD encryption function can encrypt and protect all jobs saved on the HDD.

  • HDD encryption setting is not displayed by default. To use this setting, please contact your service representative.

  • HDD encryption setting can be changed only when there are no jobs (Hold Jobs, HDD Jobs) saved on the HDD.

  1. Follow the procedure on Administrator Setting to display the [Administrator Setting Menu] screen.

  2. Press [Security Setting] on the [Administrator Setting Menu] screen, and then press [HDD Management Setting] and [HDD Encryption Setting] in sequence.

  3. To use the HDD encryption function, set the HDD encryption function setting to [ON].

  4. Press [Current Password] and enter the current encryption password.

    • The default value is 12345678.

  5. Press [New Password], then enter a new user password.

  6. Press [Input Confirmation] to reenter the new password.

  7. Press [OK] to complete the setting.

    • To cancel the change, press [Cancel].
