Exit Guide Paper Width Adj.

Make adjustment if non-stapled output into main tray is misaligned. Adjust front and back positions of exit guide unit for output alignment.

Objects of Adjustment: Offset for All Size, SRA3 short edge feed, A3 short edge feed, SRA4 short edge feed, A4 long edge feed, A4 short edge feed, A5 long edge feed, B4 short edge feed, B5 long edge feed, 8K short edge feed, 16K long edge feed, 12 18 short edge feed, 11 17 short edge feed, 9 11 long edge feed, 8.5 11 long edge feed, 8.5 11 short edge feed, 8.5 14 short edge feed, 8 13 short edge feed, 13 19 short edge feed, B5 short edge feed, A6 short edge feed / Postcard, SRA4 long edge feed, B6 short edge feed, 16K short edge feed, Custom (380 to 488 mm, Custom (220 to 379 mm), Custom (139 to 219 mm)

NOTICE

  • This adjustment is effective only for paper whose width in the crosswise direction is 182 mm or more (B5 short edge feed) for straight delivery, or 210 mm or more (A4 long edge feed) for shift delivery.

  • Be sure to complete Staple Finisher(Main) Adj. - Staple Paper Width Adj. before performing this adjustment.

NOTICE

  • If a numeric value is specified for Offset for All Size, it is applied to all paper sizes. With a specific paper size selected,the set value becomes the sum of the entered value and the value previously specified for Offset for All Size.

  1. Press Adjustment on the MACHINE screen to display the Adjustment Menu screen.

  2. Press Finisher Adjustment, Staple Finisher Adjustment, Staple Finisher(Main) Adj., and Exit Guide Paper Width Adj. in sequence.

  3. Select the size to be adjusted using down or up. 

  4. Press Print Mode.

  5. Load the paper size selected in step 3, then select that tray. If Offset Sort is selected in step 6, select paper size of 210 mm or more (A4 long edge feed).

  6. For Output Setting, select Sort or Offset Sort.

  7. Press Start on the control panel.

    A sample pattern will be output.

  8. Check the misalignment (a) of the sheets delivered to the primary (main) tray.

    Check the misalignment between printed paper and exit guides in operation to estimate the adjustment amount.
    Allowance: a = within +1 mm from paper width

  9. Press Exit PrintMode to return to the Exit Guide Paper Width Adjustment screen.

  10. If any adjustment is required, use the touch panel keypad to enter the set value.

    • supplementary explanationAdjustment Range: -50 (Wide) to +50 (Narrow) (1 step = 0.1 mm)

    • supplementary explanationUse +/- to specify the value to be positive or negative.

    • supplementary explanationIf the adjusted width is too narrow, printed paper may be misaligned in the paper feed direction.

  11. Press Set to change the setting with the Current Data.

  12. Repeat steps 4 to 11 until the desired result is obtained.

  13. Press Return.

    The screen returns to the Staple Finisher(Main) Adjustment Menu screen.
