Both-Side Adjustment Flow

The following shows the procedure for the Both Sides Adjust.

  1. Checking the reference position of the printing side .

    To determine the misalignment of printing position, the adjustment of the reference position required on the main body side must be completed.

    Before performing the Both Sides Adjust, check the adjusted value of the reference position and make adjustment as needed.

    The following items of Adjustment - Machine Adjustment - Printer Adjustment on the MACHINE screen are adjustment items that need to be checked:

    Adjust the front side in the following order, and then adjust the back side in the same order.

    FD-Mag. Adjustment - CD-Mag. Adjustment - Restart Timing Adjustment - Centering Adjustment

    NOTICE
    • The adjustment for the reference position of the print side is an advanced adjustment. Contact your service representative in advance of the adjustment.

  2. Performing Both Sides Adjustment per Tray.

    The adjustment can be made using one of the following five methods: (The AutoMeasure adjustment is not available on a machine that is not equipped with Integrated Color Care Unit IQ-501. The Scan Meas. adjustment is not available on a machine that is not equipped with Paper Feed Unit PF-711.)

Tips
  • If rotation or skew is detected on the entire image when printing, you can use Scan Meas. adjustment or Rotate/Skew to adjust the rotation and degree of skew. For details, refer to [Scan Meas.] Adjustment or [Rotate/Skew] Adjustment.

  • When changing the paper type of the tray or ensuring the accuracy of the print image size (Zoom) and position (Image Shift), first perform the front side adjustment in Front - Zoom / Image Shift or Chart Adjustment, then perform the back side adjustment in Scan Meas. or Back - Chart Adjustment.

  • You can change the default screen of the Both Sides Adjust screen. For details, contact your service representative. (You cannot set the AutoMeasure adjustment screen to the default on a machine that is not equipped with Integrated Color Care Unit IQ-501. Also, you cannot set the Scan Meas. adjustment screen to the default on a machine that is not equipped with Paper Feed Unit PF-711. )
