Staple Pitch Adjustment

Adjust staple pitch in Saddle Stitcher SD-506 to reduce misalignment and skew in paper.

Objects of Adjustment: Offset for All Size, SRA3 short edge feed, A3 short edge feed, B4 short edge feed, SRA4 short edge feed, A4 short edge feed, B5 short edge feed, 12 18 short edge feed, 11 17 short edge feed, 8.5 14 short edge feed, 8.5 11 short edge feed, 8 13 short edge feed, 8K short edge feed, 16K short edge feed, Custom (380 - 463 mm), Custom (257 - 379 mm)

NOTICE

  • If a numeric value is specified for Offset for All Size, it is applied to all paper sizes. With a specific paper size selected,the set value becomes the sum of the entered value and the value previously specified for Offset for All Size.

  1. Press Adjustment on the MACHINE screen to display the Adjustment Menu screen.

  2. Press Finisher Adjustment, Saddle Stitcher Adjustment, and Staple Pitch Adjustment in sequence.

  3. Select the size to be adjusted using down or up. 

  4. Press Print Mode.

  5. Load the paper with the size to be adjusted, then select that tray.

  6. Press Start on the control panel.

    A sample pattern will be output.

    NOTICE

    • Without the saddle stitcher tray withdrawn, the machine does not start printing even if Start on the control panel is pressed. Be sure to withdraw the saddle stitcher tray.

  7. Check the staple pitch (a) of the sample.

    Allowance: a = b/2 mm ± 2 mm

  8. If any adjustment is required, press Exit PrintMode to return to the Staple Pitch Adjustment screen.

  9. Use the touch panel keypad to enter the set value.

    • supplementary explanationAdjustment Range: -20 (To shorten) to +20 (To lengthen) (1 step = 1.0 mm)

  10. Repeat steps 4 to 9 until the desired result is obtained.

    • supplementary explanationAvailable range of the adjustment varies depending on paper sizes. The minimum value is subject to the traveling range of stapler, while the maximum value requires that the exit guides and stapler do not interfere in the saddle stitcher.

    B5 short edge feed: Setting unavailable (91 mm fixed)

    B4 short edge feed: -20 mm to +20 mm (108.5 mm to 148.5 mm)

    A4 short edge feed: -14 mm to +14 mm (91 mm to 119 mm)

    A3 short edge feed: -20 mm to +16.5 mm (128.5 mm to 165 mm)

  11. Press Return.

    The screen returns to the Saddle Stitcher Adjustment Menu screen.
