Calibration is an especially important color tone adjustment task that is part of color management. Carrying out calibration, this system correctly outputs colors that are input in another device.
The following 2 types of calibrations are available.
Color Centro controller calibration provides the following functions.
Printing measurement charts
Measuring charts using the colorimeter
Creating calibration data
Registering calibration data in the Image Controller
Creating calibration data of each paper type for each screen type
Register the appropriate calibration to suit the status or environment of this system.
The latest calibration data registered in the Image Controller is applied to print the following print jobs.
Normal calibration measures the density of each single color (CMYK) that is currently output, and creates calibration data. This function adjusts color tone based on the data without re-creating a profile.
To ensure stable color output, carry out normal calibration on a routine basis.
This system has the following normal calibrations.
[Color Density Control]: Automatic Adjustment (step 2 in [Basic Setting]) and Manual Adjustment ([Color Density Manual Control]) using functions of this system
[Calibration]: Manual Adjustment using Color Centro
The accuracy of the calibration performed by the colorimeter is the same between [Color Density Control] and Color Centro.
Advanced calibration performs color tone adjustment, which was only realized by re-creating a profile, using a method other than density adjustment for each single color (CMYK).
Advanced Calibration should be applied when
any change is made in the environment (temperature or humidity) in which the machine is placed; or
you want to output images with the same color tones on multiple machines.
The following methods are provided for Color Centro advanced calibration.
Exact Color adjusts a profile.
This function adjusts not only the reproduction of each color (CMYK) but also that of mixed color (color or gray balance with 2 or 3 colors mixed). Therefore, this function realizes color tone adjustment with a higher level of accuracy than the normal calibration.
Exact Color is available in the following cases.
Once every 2 to 3 months
You want to improve the profile accuracy.
You want to integrate color reproducibility between devices when there are multiple systems.
G7 calibration is a method that controls the gray balance with Idealliance deployed. Curve adjustment is performed using each single color (CMYK) as the primary curve. This function controls the gray balance so that common gray can be reproduced in various printing methods.
G7 calibration is available in the following cases.
Once every 2 to 3 months
You want to integrate gray color reproducibility between devices when there are multiple systems.
When switching to G7 Calibration, be sure to note the following points.
