PPD Driver is a driver suitable for printing data using the PostScript font.
This driver is available when you create print data with the application that requires PPD.
Also, the Linux printing system, "CUPS", can be operated using the PPD Driver.
The PPD Driver page-description language and the supported operating systems are as follows.
- Page description language: PostScript 3
- OS: Windows, Linux CUPS
- Image Controller is required to use PPD Driver. For details about Image Controller, refer to [Types of Image Controller] in [Specifications].
To display the [Printing Preferences] page, follow the steps below.
- Click [Properties] or [Preferences] in the Print dialog box.
- Click the printer icon in the [Printers] or [Devices and Printers] window, and select [Printing Preference].
- Click the printer icon in the [Printers and Faxes] window, and select [Printing Preference].
- PostScript Printer Description (PPD) refers to a printer description file that includes functional information of this system required for printing.
- The displayed window varies depending on which application is used.
- The printer name varies depending on the installation method.
- You can change the printer name.
