Clamp CD Width Adj.: Adjusting the Misalignment in Body Pages

If any body pages are misaligned in the clamp section, adjust the vertical side when binding a book using Perfect Binder PB-503 to reduce misalignment and skew in body pages. The sizes referred to in this section are those of bodies corresponding to cover sizes.

Objects of Adjustment: Offset for All Size, A4 , B5 , A5 /, 8.5 11 , 5.5 8.5 , 16K , Custom (220 - 379 mm), Custom (148 - 219 mm)

  • If a numeric value is specified for [Offset for All Size], it is applied to all paper sizes. With a specific paper size selected,the set value becomes the sum of the entered value and the value previously specified for [Offset for All Size].

  1. Press [Adjustment] on the [MACHINE] screen to display the [Adjustment Menu] screen.

  2. Press [Finisher Adjustment], [Perfect Binder Adjustment], and [Clamp CD Width Adjustment] in sequence.

  3. Load cover paper in either Perfect Binder Cover Tray or any other tray.

  4. Load paper for body sets in the desired tray.

  5. Select the size to be adjusted using [] or [].

  6. Press [Print Mode].

  7. Select the tray loaded with paper for body sets.

  8. Press Start on the control panel.

    A sample pattern of perfect-bound book is printed.

  9. Check that the horizontal scanning direction is equal on every page of the body set.

  10. If any adjustment is required, press [Exit PrintMode] to return to the [Clamp CD Width Adjustment] screen.

  11. Use the touch panel keypad to enter the set value.

    • Use [+/-] to specify the value to be positive or negative.

    • Press [Set] to change the current value.

    • Adjustment Range: -20 ([To reduce distortion]) to +20 ([To reduce dispersion]) (1 step = 0.1 mm)

  12. Repeat steps 6 to 11 until the desired result is obtained.

  13. Press [Return].

    The screen returns to the [Perfect Binder Adjustment Menu] screen.
