Be sure to check the out of range image report if [Out of range was detected] is displayed on the system’s Touch panel.
This section describes the status when an out of range image is detected, its cause, and the method for resolving the issue.
Status 1: A red circle annotation is displayed on the out of range image report, and there are stains on the actual printed item. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
Non-standard stains were detected. | There might be dirt in the paper feed path. Perform maintenance of the system. For details, refer to [Execute Adjust Operation] or Maintenance. |
Status 2: A red circle annotation is displayed on the out of range image report, but there are no stains on the actual printed item. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
The inspection accuracy may be set too high. | Lower the level of any of the following.
|
The actual printed paper differs from that of the reference image. | Load the paper that was used when creating the reference image. Alternatively, load the actual paper type you are using and create a reference image again. |
The scanner unit of Intelligent Quality Care Unit IQ-501 is dirty. | Clean the scanner unit. For details, refer to Cleaning the Intelligent Quality Care Unit IQ-501. |
Status 3: A red arrow annotation is displayed on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
Non-standard streak-like dirt was detected. | Perform [Image Diagnosis]. Run a diagnosis to find the causes of various defects on images, including streaks and spots (white outlines, colored outlines, black and white blots or marks). Checking the diagnostics results and performing adjustments improves the stability of the image quality. For details, refer to [Image Diagnosis]. |
Status 4: A red square annotation is displayed on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
Non-standard spot-like dirt was detected. | The reason for spots occurring is often contamination in the toner, so try reprinting in such cases. If reprinting does not resolve the situation, run [Image Diagnosis]. Run a diagnosis to find the causes of various defects on images, including streaks and spots (white outlines, colored outlines, black and white blots or marks). Checking the diagnostics results and performing adjustments improves the stability of the image quality. For details, refer to [Image Diagnosis]. |
Status 5: An error occurs in the barcode inspection or serial number inspection. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
There is an abnormality in the original data. Alternatively, the settings are not in line with the specifications. | Check the inspection data and decoding results (CSV file in the report). Alternatively, check that the barcode area or serial number area settings are configured correctly in line with the specifications. For details, refer to [Barcode Area] / [Serial No. Area]. |
Status 6: A pink circle annotation is displayed on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
There is either dirt on the reference image or an out of range image omission has been detected. | Perform maintenance of the system, and create a reference image again. Alternatively, lower the inspection level. |
Status 7: "Alignment Error" is displayed in the bookmark section of the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
There is a positional alignment error between the reference image and inspected image. | For images with pale colors, or simple images with only ruled lines, positional misalignment may occur. If errors continue to show up on specific images, try setting the all target pages as areas to be excluded from inspection with [Inspection Excluding Area]. For details about automatic inspection area settings, refer to Setting Inspection Areas. |
There are large stains on the image. | If any stain is found on the reference image, create a reference image again. If there is dirt on the printed item, first perform maintenance of the system, and then run the automatic inspection once more. |
The printed image is completely different than the reference image. | Check to see if the print job and reference image match. If you find no issues, create a reference image again. |
Status 8: The message "Position Error (Scan)" is displayed as error information on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
There are large stains on the image. | If any stain is found on the reference image, create a reference image again. If any stain is found on printouts, perform automatic inspection again after carrying out maintenance of this system. |
The target image, for example, a pale image or a simple image made up of ruled lines only, is difficult to align. | Set Inspection Excluding Area to the entire surface of the page in which an error frequently occurs. |
The printing position is misaligned by 2.5 mm or more. | Check the paper loaded in the tray. |
The actual printed paper differs from that of the reference image. | Load the paper that was used when creating the reference image. Alternatively, load the actual paper type you are using and create a reference image again. |
Status 9: The message "Barcode/No.Mis." is displayed as error information on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
The contents of the source CSV file are different from the printing result. | Check the inspection data and decoding results (CSV file in the report). Alternatively, check that the barcode area or serial number area settings are configured correctly in line with the specifications. For details, refer to [Barcode Area] / [Serial No. Area]. |
The settings of the type or orientation of the inspection area, the barcode type, and more are different. |
Status 10: The message "CSV Unfit" is displayed as error information on the out of range image report. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
The specified page is not found in the source CSV file. | Check the inspection data and the CSV file in the report. |
The specified coordinates are different in the source CSV file. | |
The specified setting value is different in the source CSV file. |
Status 11: The message "inspection failed" is displayed on the system's Touch panel. | |
---|---|
Cause | Solution |
The paper size used for the print job differs from that used for the reference image. | Check to see if the print job and reference image match. If you find no issues, create a reference image again. |
