Components of the MACHINE Screen

Keys displayed on the MACHINE screen vary depending on the type of the image controller or whether or not the machine is mounted with Paper Feed Unit PF-711. Paper Feed Unit PF-711 is mounted with a scanner and ADF.

This section describes the MACHINE screen to be displayed on the machine mounted with Paper Feed Unit PF-711 and options as described below.

The screen displays Relay Unit RU-511, Integrated Color Care Unit IQ-501, Folding Unit FD-503, Saddle Stitcher SD-506, Perfect Binder PB-503, and Finisher FS-532 as output options.

MACHINE tab

Displays the MACHINE screen.

Perfect binder heater switch

Turns ON or OFF the PB (perfect binder) heater. If you know when to use the perfect binder in advance, turn it ON so that you can work efficiently.

When you do not use the heater, turn it OFF to prevent the deterioration of glue.

Perfect binder/main body warming-up status bar

Indicates the warming-up status while the perfect binder or main body is warming up. When the warming up operation is completed, the status bar disappears.

Web Browser

Displays the screen that corresponds to the URL specified on the Web browser.

Info. Sound/Voice ON/OFF

Press this to temporarily turn the speaker sound off.

This is available only when Speaker Sound is set to ON by selecting UTILITY - User Setting - System Setting - Operation/Info.Sound Setting - Volume Setting.

Help

Displays the help message which provides information about the screen currently displayed. Depending on the screen,  may be shaded and no help message can be displayed.

When you press it in the MACHINE screen, the instructions to replace toners, replace waste toner boxes, replace the cyclone box, add staples, dump the scrap of punching, stapling and trimming, supply glue pellets, load paper, and replenish water to the humidifier tank are displayed.

Output information indicator

Displays the print count, set count, and job number of the current job while printing.

Machine management information indicator

Displays the number of reserved job, remaining memory amount, original count, and file system amount.

Scanner message

Displays the status of the original scan of the Dual Scan Document Feeder (ADF) or Original glass.

Execute Sample Print

Makes a sample print during an output job. This option is displayed when the machine is mounted with Image Controller IC-604.

Machine configuration display

Displays the configuration of main body and options.

Size (mm) / Size (inch)

The sizes are displayed in millimeters by default. Switching between millimeters and inches can be made from the UTILITY screen. For details, refer to [Unit Setting].

Tray information indicator
(tray 1 to tray 9)

Displays paper size, orientation, name, weight, and paper amount in the tray.

Tray information indicator (upper tray and lower tray of the post inserter, cover tray)

For the machine equipped with Folding Unit FD-503, it provides information on paper size, orientation, name, weight and paper amount of the upper tray and lower tray of the post inserter.

For the machine equipped with Perfect Binder PB-503, it provides information on paper size, orientation, name, weight, and paper amount of the cover tray of Perfect Binder PB-503.

If Post Inserter PI-502 is mounted, it provides information on paper size and paper amount of the upper tray and lower tray of the post inserter.

Outside Temp. and Outside Humidity

Displays outside temperature and outside humidity that are detected with the temperature and humidity sensor mounted on the machine.

Machine function keys switch

Switches the display of the machine function keys.

Machine status indicator/right

Displays Fuser (Env.). USB Drive, Y-Toner, M-Toner, C-Toner, K-Toner, PM Call, ADF Clean, Consumable, Torque, Un-Comp., Security, Modem Err, ORU-M, Dark Tone. Up to 4 indicators can be displayed in large size. When 5 or more indicators are displayed, small icons without texts will substitute for the indicators from the 4th and onward. The maximum number of items displayed is a total of 7, including 3 normal-sized icons and 4 small-sized icons.

Soft-hard key icon

When using Real-time Remote Panel, hard keys of the control panel can be displayed on a computer screen and on the touch panel. Press any part of the black bar with this icon displayed. It does not function in other cases. When you move to another screen from the screen with hard keys displayed, the hard key display disappears. For details, refer to Overview of Remote Panel.

Machine function keys display area

Paper Setting: Specifies the paper conditions for Paper Feed Unit PF-707m, Paper Feed Unit PF-711, the upper tray/lower tray of Post Inserter PI-502, the upper tray/lower tray of Post Inserter mounted on Folding Unit FD-503, and the cover tray of Perfect Binder PB-503.

Both Sides: Makes adjustments for images printed on the front and back sides of paper loaded into each tray (tray 1 to tray 9), as well as for rotation/skew adjustment, chart adjustment, gap adjustment, and scan measurement adjustment.

Adjustment: Adjusts the main body and optional equipment.

Controller: Configures the controller.

RU Curl Adjustment: Performs curl adjustment for each tray (tray 1 to tray 9). When Humidifier HM-101 is mounted on Relay Unit RU-511, you can make the humidification setting for each tray.

Sample Print Set: Pressed to set sample print.

The following buttons are displayed when the Machine function keys switch is pressed.

Color Density Manual Control: Press this key to manually adjust the color density or manage the registered information for Color Density Manual Control. When Use Color Density Control is set to ON, this key is enabled.

Color Density Control Result: Press this key to check the periodic adjustment result of Color Density Control. When the periodic adjustment is conducted, this key is enabled.

Register/Delete Paper Setting: Press this key to register or delete the frequently used paper setting.

Machine status indicator/left

Displays the current time or the status of the image controller.

Consumable and Scrap Indicators area

Displays the current status of toner supply. Also, it notifies via a red indicator when staples need to be supplied to the optionally mounted stapler, when the waste toner box, cyclone box, or hole-punch scrap box is full, or when water needs to be supplied to the humidifier.

The number of replacements of the toner bottle can be counted. For details, contact your service representative.

Job display area

Displays the current status of the jobs to be operated on the machine. When there are any incomplete jobs, the Incomp. History key is displayed.

Message area

Displays messages concerning the current status of the machine or operation currently required.
