Collectively Performing Reference Image Creation and Automatic Inspection

Overview

Set the number of copies to be printed for a job to two or more and collectively perform reference image creation and automatic inspection.

This function creates and registers a reference image when printing the first copy, and automatically inspects the second and subsequent copies using the reference image created when printing the first copy.

NOTICE
  • If [Scan Image] is selected with [Reference Image Type Selection], it will be registered as a reference image even if there is a problem such as the presence of stains on the first copy. In this case, the correct effect cannot be obtained because automatic inspections are executed with reference to a reference image that has problems.
  • It is recommended to select [RIP Data] with [Reference Image Type Selection] when executing collective automatic inspections.
Tips
  • Textured paper, unprinted insertion paper, paper with punch holes, tab paper, and insertion paper are not subject to automatic inspections.
  • If you want to set an inspection area, you will not be able to collectively perform reference image creation and automatic inspection.

Setting Procedure

Access Print Manager.

  • For details about how to access Print Manager, refer to Print Manager.

Select a held print job, and then press [Job Management] followed by [Job Settings].

Enable [Auto Inspection] from the [Quality] tab.

Select [Automatic Processing Mode] of [Inspection Mode].

Select [Inspection Level].

  • Select [Standard] as an example.

Press [Print] to start the print job and begin automatic inspection.

  • The reference image is created and registered in the first copy of the set number of copies, and the job is printed while automatic inspections are executed for the second and subsequent copies.

  • After printing, [Inspection Mode] is changed to [Use Registered Image] and the job stored with the reference image created in the first copy selected.

  • If only 1 copy is to be printed, only reference image creation and registration are performed. After printing, [Inspection Mode] is changed and the job is stored, as in the case of when printing two or more copies.

  • If an abnormality is detected during the inspection, it is displayed on the [MACHINE] and [IQ Detected Result] screens on the system’s Touch panel. For details, refer to [IQ Detected Result].

  • You can check the automatic inspection reports using the system’s Touch panel or from Web Utilities on Auto Inspection Unit UK-301.
