This section describes the paper and original indications shown in this guide.
When indicating the paper size or original size, the Y side represents the width and the X side the length.
short edge feed indicates the paper size with the length (X) being longer than the width (Y).
long edge feed indicates the paper size with the length (X) being shorter than the width (Y).
The marks displayed for tab paper on the screen are () and () for both paper and original, while T long edge feed and T short edge feed are used in this guide.
(Example) A4 () -> A4T long edge feed, A4 () -> A4T short edge feed
Portrait original refers to the original fed in horizontal or landscape orientation long edge feed, when placed to be read normally.
Landscape original refers to the original fed in vertical or portrait orientation short edge feed, when placed to be read normally.
