For Reducing Waste Paper
Overview
This section describes the operation to reduce the amount of waste paper (paper that needs to be disposed) generated when performing adjustments.
The adjustment items may differ depending on the options mounted on the system.
NOTICE
Configuring the settings to reduce the amount of waste paper may result in the following.
- Image quality stability may be reduced when printing at high volumes
- Secondary and tertiary color stability may be reduced
Recommended Settings (With Intelligent Quality Care Unit IQ-501 Mounted)

Configure the following settings on [Color Density Control] - [Basic Setting]. Lowering the Periodical Adjustment (automatic adjustment) frequency reduces the number of chart sheets printed, helping minimize the amount of waste paper that is produced.
- Set [Use Color Density Control] to [ON]
- Set [Periodical Adj. Execution] to [ON]
- Set [Adjustment Execution Timing] to [Before Job Start]
- Set [Adjustment Interval] to [OFF]

If you lower the frequency of periodic adjustment (automatic adjustment) with section 1 in "Recommended Settings", and want to reduce the occurrence of waste paper, set the following with [Color Density Control] - [Basic Setting]. You can reduce production of waste paper by performing [Color Density Manual Control] (manual adjustment) at any time instead of the periodic adjustment.
- Set [Use Color Density Control] to [ON]
- Set [Periodical Adj. Execution] to [OFF]
Tips
If the stability of the image quality reduces, make the following adjustments. Doing this means no charts are output, reducing the amount of waste paper.
- Set [Synchronize with Image Diagnosis (AQA)] to [OFF] in [Package Color Auto Adj.]
- [Gamma Automatic Adjustment] of [Package Color Manual Adj.]
- [Max. Density Auto Adj.] of [Package Color Manual Adj.] (Perform using the specified paper)
- [Color Density Control] of [Package Color Manual Adj.] (Perform using the specified paper)
- [Exact Color]/ [G7] (Perform using the specified paper)
