Loading paper into Large Capacity Unit LU-202XL or Large Capacity Unit LU-202XLm

To use paper other than loaded in a tray, change the paper setting of the large capacity unit in Paper Setting on the MACHINE screen or COPY screen.

When Paper Feed Unit PF-707m is also mounted, we recommend you feed coated paper using Paper Feed Unit PF-707m.

If a paper feeding failure occurs due to the paper type, paper size, or paper weight, you may improve the paper feedability by attaching the weight plates supplied with the machine to the pick-up roller unit as shown below. Change the number of weight plates to make adjustments. When loading paper of 256 g/m2 / 68 lb Bond or more in Large Capacity Unit LU-202XLm, attach two weight plates in advance, then change the number of weight plates to make adjustments.

  1. Open the top door (left) and top door (right).

    The tray bottom plate automatically goes down.

    NOTICE
    • Without the main body power turned on, the tray bottom plate does not move down. Be sure to turn the sub power switch ON.

    To load the same size as loaded before, proceed to step 4.

    To load a different size of paper, proceed to step 2.

  2. Adjust the position of the side guide plate (left).

    • supplementary explanationTurn the side guide fixing knobs (4 pieces) of the side guide plate (left) counterclockwise to loosen them.

    • supplementary explanationMove the two side guide plates (left) to an appropriate position according to the size indication provided on the top of the guide plates.

    • supplementary explanationTurn the four side guide fixing knobs of the side guide plates (left) clockwise to fix the guides.

  3. Adjust the position of the rear guide plate.

    • supplementary explanationWhile pushing the rear guide lock release lever, move the rear guide plate to match the paper size indicator of the tray bottom plate.

  4. Load paper with the print side up.

  5. Press the bottom plate lowering button.

    NOTICE
    • Without the main body power turned on, the bottom plate lowering button will not function. Be sure to turn the sub power switch ON.

  6. Repeat the steps 4 and 5 until the tray bottom plate will not go down any more.

    NOTICE
    • Do not load above the limit level indicated on the side guide plate (left) of the tray.

    • Be sure that the rear guide plate is securely aligned with the loaded paper. If making the space between the rear guide plate and paper too wide or too narrow, paper jams or machine trouble may be caused.

  7. Close the top door (right) and top door (left).

    The paper level indicator of the tray changes from to on the MACHINE screen and COPY screen.
