Use the machine authentication function (machine authentication) to restrict which users can use the system. User authentication information can be registered and managed on the system.
Introducing user authentication allows not only the ability to restrict which users can use the system, but also allows advanced operations such as limiting which functions can be used by which users and managing the operating conditions of the system by taking into consideration security and cost.
Advantages
Users can be easily registered to the system, even without a server in place.
Disadvantages
Entering registration information for large numbers of users can be time consuming. If using multiple systems, you have to register users to each system individually. For details, refer to External Server Authentication.
This section describes the procedure for setting and registering with Web Connection. The same setting is also possible using Touch panel on the machine.
You must clear usage management data whenever changing [User Authentication].
[User Name]: up to 64 single-byte (32 double-byte) characters
