•Shared folder: PDF-Scan
•User account: user1
When Simple File Sharing is enabled for shared folders, if [Share this folder on the network] checkbox under [Network sharing and security] is deselected in [Sharing] tab in the folder's Properties window, the SMB transmission is not available. Be sure to select the checkbox and click [OK].
-> By default, Simple File Sharing in Windows XP is set to be enabled. This is useful when it is not necessary to set permissions for access in details. If the computer is joined to a domain, the Simple File Sharing setting is disabled.
-> Windows XP Home Edition does not have the "Use Simple File Sharing" option. It is always enabled and does not allow you to set permissions for access in details.
If Simple File Sharing is disabled or the computer is joined to a domain, you can set attributes of a shared folder. In the [General] tab of the Properties dialog of the folder to which a file is sent, if [Attributes] is set to [Read-only], sending a file results in an error because it is not possible for the computer to write to a file. Be sure to deselect the checkbox and click [OK].
