Reprinting the Printed Material Where an Abnormality Is Detected

Overview

The printed material where an abnormality is detected by the automatic inspection is output (purged) to a tray other than the job's output tray.

Then, the printed material that was purged is reprinted.

NOTICE

The printed material where an abnormality is detected cannot be purged for the following options:

  • FoldingUnit FD-503
  • SaddleStitcher SD-506
  • Trimmer Unit TU-510
  • Saddle Stitcher SD-513 in Multi Tri-Fold, Fold & Staple, or Half-Fold mode
  • Option in a stage before Intelligent Quality Optimizer Unit IQ-601
  • Option in a stage after the job output tray
Tips
  • When printed items on which an abnormality was detected are output to the Purge tray, any paper remaining in the machine is also output to the Purge tray during printing. This is to keep the correct page order for printed items being output to the regular tray.

Setting Procedure

Press [MACHINE] and then [IQ Function Set.] on the system’s Touch panel to display the [IQ Function Set.] screen.

  • You can also configure this setting by accessing Utility/Counter, [User Setting], and then [Common Setting], or Utility/Counter, [Administrator Setting], and then [Common Setting].

Proceed with [Next], select [Continue Output] on [Operation after Abnormality Detection], and press [Detection Count].

Use the on-screen numeric keypad to enter the number of times a deviation or out of range image is detected before the printing is stopped, then press [OK].

Select [ON] of [Automatic Reprinting upon Abnormality Detection], and press [OK].

Perform automatic inspection printing.

  • If an abnormality is detected during printing, the printing paper remaining in that machine is output to the [Purge Tray] at the same time as the printing paper on which the abnormality was detected.
