SMB connection
SMB printing is performed by directly specifying this machine. To share this machine, use the SMB (Server Message Block) protocol.
If a WINS server is used for name resolution, register the WINS server.
When the direct hosting SMB service is enabled, you can establish a communication using the IP address (IPv4/IPv6) or host name. Enabling the direct hosting SMB service allows you to also use the SMB print function in the IPv6 environment.
Using LLMNR (Link-local Multicast Name Resolution), you can perform name resolution even if the DNS server is not provided. This function is useful when you want to perform name resolution in the IPv6 environment.
To use SMB printing, follow the steps below to configure the required setting.
Configure the setting to connect to the network, for example, specifying the IP address of this machine.

When you want to specify a peer with the host name while the DNS server is inactive, configure the following setting.
1) Select TCP/IP Setting - TCP/IP Setting, and set LLMNR Setting to Enable.
2) Configure the Direct Hosting setting.
