[Max. Density Auto Adj.]
Overview
Perform [Max. Density Auto Adj.].
This function allows you to automatically adjust the maximum density by outputting a chart. This function measures differences from the target density values set by the customer engineer (CE), and adjusts the measurement value.
The operation screen varies depending on the mounted optional devices.
NOTICE
One of the following options is required to use this function.
- Intelligent Quality Optimizer Unit IQ-601 and Video Interface Kit VI-514
- Relay Unit RU-518m
NOTICE
- Perform [Max. Density Auto Adj.] using the paper used when registering the target density. If unregistered paper is used, adjustment cannot be performed correctly.
NOTICE
To adjust the special toner, follow the steps below.

- [M on White]
- [C on White]
- [K on White]
Tips
- When Intelligent Quality Optimizer Unit IQ-601 is mounted, [Max. Density Auto Adj.] is displayed.
- When Intelligent Quality Optimizer Unit IQ-601 is not mounted, [Max. Density Auto Adj. (RU)] is displayed.
Tips
- [Max. Density Auto Adj. (RU)] does not allow you to adjust special toner.
Setting Items
Setting item | Description |

[Current Data] | Displays the automatic adjustment result of the maximum density. These values are applied to [Maximum Density Adjustment]. |
[Measurement History] | Displays the maximum density measurement history. To switch the display item, press [Switch Display].

[Print Mode] | Outputs a chart for measurement. |
Setting Procedure
Outputs a chart for measurement.

Press [Print Mode].

Load the paper used when registering the target density into the tray.

Select the paper tray in which the paper was loaded in step 2.
Select [Overwrite] or [Do Not Overwrite].
Selecting [Overwrite] overwrites the target value of [Maximum Density Adjustment].
If you have individual settings according to the paper types using [Expert Adj.], select [Do Not Overwrite], and manually adjust the maximum density.

Press Start on the Control panel.
A chart [Screen1] with applied is output. You cannot stop adjustment until all charts are output.

Press [Exit PrintMode].
Tips
- Always perform [Color Density Manual Control] after changing the maximum density.
