Effectively Using Useful Paper-Related Settings
Automatic Tray Switching Function
Setting the Auto Tray Switch (ATS) means printing does not need to stop when a paper tray runs out of paper, helping prevent drops in productivity.
The setting procedure is detailed below.
Step 1
Configure whether or not to use the function
Select the Paper tray which is switched when the Auto Tray Switch (ATS) is activated.
Step 2
Set the priority order at which each Paper tray is switched
Uses the Paper tray with the highest priority when the Auto Tray Switch (ATS) is activated.

[Simple Setting]
[Simple Setting] is a function to automatically set various items of [Expert Adj.] that corresponds to the symptomatic improvement by just selecting the preset table applicable to the symptoms such as abnormality or trouble.
Specific adjustments can be made to the following items.
Paper jam
Improving cloudy images and image blur on prints

Paper Error Detection Function
If the physical properties of the paper used for printing, such as the basis weight, differ from the paper settings in the paper tray, it may cause a finishing error.
By using the paper error detection function, the optional Intelligent Media Sensor IM-104 detects the paper while printing a job and ejects paper that has been fed with the incorrect settings.
This prevents printing errors and paper loss.
NOTICE
To use this function, the following settings are required.
- Set [Paper Error Check] in [Common Setting] to [ON].
- Set [Paper Error Check] of [Expert Adj.] to [Common Setting]. (This setting is required for each tray.)

The paper error detection function can be used for the following jobs:
- Print job
- Copy job
- Both-side adjustment job (excluding [Auto Duplex Adjustment])

The paper error detection function detects the paper fed from one of the following options:
- Paper Feeder Unit PF-712
- Paper Feeder Unit PF-713
- Paper Feeder Unit PF-812
- Multi Bypass Tray MB-511

- Paper on which a paper error is detected by Intelligent Media Sensor IM-104 is output to Secondary (sub) tray of Relay Unit RU-518m.
