Restricting the firmware update using a USB memory with a password
Configure settings to prompt password entry when the service representative updates firmware of this machine using a USB memory.
In the administrator mode, select [Security] - [FW Update (USB) Permission Setting], then configure the following settings.

[USB Update] | When prompting password entry to update firmware of this machine using a USB memory, select [Password Priority]. Selecting [USB Connection Permission Setting Preference] applies the setting that is configured by selecting [Security] - [USB Connection Permission setting] - [External Memory (Service)] - [Firmware Update] in the administrator mode. [USB Connection Permission Setting Preference] is specified by default. |
[Password]/[Retype Password] | When [Password Priority] is selected in [USB Update], enter the password (using up to 20 characters) to allow firmware updating using a USB memory. To enter (change) the password, select the [Password is changed.] check box, then enter a new password. |
