Cleaning the Duplex part
Overview
Clean the Duplex part using the procedure detailed below if it becomes dirty.
CAUTION
- Be sure to check the specified areas to see if they need cleaning before switching the machine ON.
NOTICE
- Be careful not to knock the dirt into the paper feed path when cleaning.

Open the Front door.

Set the Main power switch to ON.

Set the Sub power switch to ON.

Turn Lever [M1] counterclockwise down. Hold Lever [M1] and pull out the Duplex part.
If the power is switched ON while the Front door is closed, the temperature inside the Fusing unit will become high. If this happens, wait until the temperature drops before continuing to clean.

Set the Sub power switch to OFF, and then set the Main power switch to OFF.

Wipe clean the top of the Duplex part using a lint-free, non-woven cloth. Wipe in the axial direction.
Do not use alcohol to clean.

Open Cover [M3], wipe clean the paper feed path using a soft cloth impregnated with cleaning alcohol, and then close Cover [M3].

Open Cover [M10], wipe clean the paper feed path and rollers using a soft cloth impregnated with cleaning alcohol, and then close Cover [M10].

Open Cover [M11], and then wipe clean the paper feed path and rollers using a soft cloth impregnated with cleaning alcohol.

Open Cover [M12], wipe clean the paper feed path and rollers using a soft cloth impregnated with cleaning alcohol, and then close Cover [M12].

Close Cover [M11], push the duplex part into the machine, and return Lever [M1] to its home position.

Close the Front door.

Cleaning is complete.
