Employing Bluetooth LE authentication
Overview
The Bluetooth LE is the standard for power-saving near-field communication that is used for connection between handheld terminals or other devices several meters away each other.
When user authentication is installed on this machine, the user can log in to this machine from the iOS terminal compatible with Bluetooth LE using Bluetooth LE authentication.
User authentication must be employed on this machine.
This machine and the iOS terminal must be connected to the same wireless LAN environment.
The optional Local Interface Kit (voice guidance / Bluetooth LE compatible) is required to use this function. This setting must be configured in advance by your service representative. For details, contact your service representative.

Configuring settings for Bluetooth LE authentication on an iOS terminal
To perform user authentication on an iOS terminal, prepare the following on the iOS terminal.
Enabling the wireless connection and Bluetooth LE for iOS terminal
Install PageScope Mobile for iPhone/iPad on the iOS terminal to enable the Bluetooth LE terminal setting.

Enabling the Bluetooth LE authentication function on this machine
Set the Bluetooth LE authentication function to Enable on this machine.
In the administrator mode, select [User Auth/Account Track] - [General Settings], then configure the following settings.

[Bluetooth LE Authentication Setting] | Select [ON] to use Bluetooth LE authentication. [OFF] is specified by default. |
Using Bluetooth LE on an iOS terminal to log in to this machine
The following describes how to log in to this machine from an iOS terminal using Bluetooth LE authentication.
The steps below must be executed near this machine.
Start PageScope Mobile for iPhone/iPad on the iOS terminal.
Tap [Printer Panel Login] on the home screen of PageScope Mobile for iPhone/iPad.
This displays a list of devices compatible with Bluetooth LE communication.
Select this machine from the device list.
Authentication starts. If authentication succeeds, you can log in to this machine.

[Printer Panel Login] of PageScope Mobile for iPhone/iPad is also enabled at a location away from this machine, but the login operation must be performed near this machine. If the login operation is performed at a location away from this machine, this machine may be used without permission by anyone else when the Control Panel is placed in the login state.
When you use Bluetooth LE authentication, we recommend you to select [User Auth/Account Track] - [User/Account Common Setting] in the administrator mode and set [Logout Confirmation Display Setting] to [ON]. Configuring this setting displays the logout confirmation screen on the Touch Panel if a user logs in to this machine from an iOS terminal while another user is already logging in to this machine.
