The machine has three modes to automatically conserve energy.
•Auto Low Power
•Auto Shut OFF
•ErP setting
Auto Low Power conserves energy of the machine by lowering the power consumption.
If the machine is idle for a certain period of time while being able to output, the Power Save LED lights and the touch panel turns off lowering the power consumption of the machine. The Start LED turns red, while the Power LED keeps green.
When the same period of time is set for Auto Low Power and Auto Shut OFF, the machine power shuts off. The touch panel does not turn off if the Jam Position screen or the screen indicating current 2-sided printing is displayed.
From the [UTILITY] screen, Auto Low Power can be set to OFF and the set period of time can be changed. For details, refer to Power Save Function Setting: Selecting the Power Save Mode.
Press any key on the touch panel or the control panel. The machine can now print.
Auto Shut OFF achieves further energy conservation by reducing power consumption.
If the machine is idle for a certain period of time while being able to output, the touch panel display and LEDs other than the Power Save LED and Power LED turn off lowering power consumption of the machine.
The Power LED keeps green.
When the machine is in the Shut Off mode, only jobs from PageScope Direct Print (PSDP) can be output. To output other jobs, exit the Shut Off mode before using the machine.
From the [UTILITY] screen, Auto Shut OFF can be set to OFF and the set period of time can be changed. For details, refer to Power Save Function Setting: Selecting the Power Save Mode.
If the machine is in the Shut Off mode for an extended period of time, it may take time to warm up when restarting.
Press Power Save on the control panel. The machine can now print.
The ErP function is a function that turns the main power switch OFF when the main power switch is ON and the machine remains in the following conditions for a certain period of time.
- The sub power switch is OFF.
- Auto Shut OFF is activated.
- Auto Low Power is activated.
From the [UTILITY] screen, the ErP function can be set to OFF and the set period of time can be changed. For details, refer to ErP Setting: Turning Off the Main Power Switch Automatically.
[ErP Setting] is grayed out to show that it is not available on a machine with the [Weekly Timer ON/OFF Setting] set to [Weekly Timer ON].
