Machine Side: Steps Required to Use this Function (for the Administrator)
Checking a LAN cable for connection
Check that a LAN cable is connected to the LAN port of this machine via the network.
Checking the network settings
Check that an IP address is assigned to this machine. Tap [Utility] - [Device Information], and check that an IP address is displayed.
If no IP address is displayed, you need to configure the network. For details, refer to [Configuring network environment settings] .
Configuring the SMB Send environment
Enable the SMB Send function. (You can use this function with the default settings unless otherwise requested.)
How to configure the setting is explained using Web Connection. For details, refer to [Configuring basic settings for the SMB transmission] .
In Mac OS X, configure the following setting.
Set [SMB Authentication Setting] to [NTLM v1/v2]. For details, refer to [Configuring basic settings for the SMB transmission] .
Enable the direct hosting SMB service. (You can use this function with the default settings unless otherwise requested.) For details, refer to [Using the direct hosting SMB service] .
Synchronize the date and time, including the time zone, between the machine and your computer. For details on how to set the date and time of this machine, refer to [Setting the date and time for the machine] .
