Staple: Adjusting the Staple Position

This function allows you to adjust the staple pitch (position) between two staples.

As an example, this section explains how to make the staple pitch 2 mm narrower on Finisher FS-532 when the staple pitch is 140 mm.

• Meaning and Purpose of Staple Position Adjustment

  • When the staple pitch (position) between the two staples is too wide or too narrow, this function allows you to adjust the staple position (staple pitch) by specifying the desired value.

  • Negative values make the pitch narrower.

  • Positive values make the pitch wider.

  1. Print the original and measure the pitch 'a' between the staples using a ruler.

    Staple pitch 'a' is made narrower by 2mm in this example.

  2. On the touch panel of the main body, press [Adjustment] on the [MACHINE] screen.

  3. Press [Finisher Adjustment] on the [Adjustment Menu] screen.

  4. Press [Staple Finisher Adjustment] on the [Finisher Adjustment] menu.

  5. Press [Staple Finisher (Main) Adj.] on the [Staple Finisher Adjustment] menu.

  6. Press [Staple Position Adjustment] on the [Staple Finisher (Main) Adj.] menu.

  7. Press [2 Position Pitch (140mm)]. Enter the following value and press [Set].

    Example: Make the staple pitch for [2 Position Pitch (140mm)] narrower by 2 mm.

    • Press [2 Position Pitch (140mm)], [+/-], [2], and [Set] to enter the value [-2]. This makes the staple pitch 2 mm narrower.

    • Press the keypad on the screen to set the value.

    • Use [+/-] to specify the value to be positive or negative.

    • Pressing [Print Mode] switches the mode to print mode, which allows you to print the original.

  8. Print the original again and check the staple pitch.

    Repeat the above steps as necessary.
