Intelligent media sensor automatically detects the type of paper loaded in a tray, and helps the user select the paper type, offering the simple operability. This is set to ON by default. For details on the setting, refer to [Paper type auto detection settings] (Here) or [Auto envelope detection sett.] (Here).
When Intelligent media sensor is mounted, be sure to note the following points.
Do not use an envelope with an open window cut out or windowed envelope with attached cellophane. Also, the paper type may not be correctly detected depending on the paper. For details on the unavailable paper, refer to Here.
An envelope of which the inside was stuck due to static electricity may not be correctly detected.
The multi-fed sheets may not be correctly detected.
Even if paper is detected as recycled paper, it may be displayed as plain paper depending on the setting.
For single side only paper (back cover), the paper type may not be correctly detected.
Special paper, colored paper, gross paper, matte paper, single side only paper (back cover), label paper, index paper, or postcard may not be correctly detected.
If plain paper, recycled paper, or envelope cannot be correctly detected, contact your service representative.
The pre-print paper (paper on which the company name or logo is printed) may not be correctly detected.
If regular paper cannot be correctly detected at frequent intervals, it can be adjusted using [Paper type auto detection settings]. For details, refer to Here.
