        • [Expert Adjustment]
          • [Gradation Adjustment]
            • [Maximum Density Adjustment]
Select this option when the desired printing result is not obtained, for example, because the printing density is too high or low. Read the amount of toner attached to the output test pattern, then adjust to the optimum density.
    • Before adjusting the maximum density, fine-adjust the printing density (amount of toner) in [Max. Density Adjustment].

    • If the desired printing result is still not obtained after the maximum density has been adjusted, contact your service representative.

  1. Tap [Maximum Density Adjustment].

  2. Select the paper type for printing a test pattern.

  3. Press the Start key.

If [A3 /11 17 ] is selected, one test pattern is printed out. If [A4 /8-1/2 11 ] is selected, two test patterns are printed out.

  4. Place the test pattern on the Original Glass in the orientation indicated on the Touch Panel.

    • For [A4 /8-1/2 11 ], line two test patterns up side by side.

  5. Place ten or more blank sheets of paper to prevent bleeding of the test pattern.

  6. Close the ADF or Original Cover.

  7. Press the Start key.

    The test pattern is scanned.
