G3 Fax Error Code

About G3 Fax Error Codes

This section describes the error details and the corrective action when a fax sending/receiving error (Txx, Rxx) occurs.

For a fax sending/receiving error, check the error message or the error code displayed on the [Job Details] screen, and then respond according to the error content and corrective action in the error code list below.

Transmission system error code

If the machine encounters a problem while sending a G3 fax, an error dialog will appear and error codes will be displayed in Txx format. Take corrective actions by referring to the table below.

If a communication error recurs, contact the telecommunications carrier or your service representative.

Could not detect the fax signal from the recipient.

  • Check to see if the destination is correct.
    Check that the recipient telephone number is for fax.

  • Check that the recipient can receive faxes.

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

T01

Could not send a mixed original.

It is not possible to send a mixed original to the recipient. Align the size to A4 or smaller size, B4 or smaller size, or A3 or smaller size, and resend the original.

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

T02

Could not detect the fax signal from the recipient.

If a communication error recurs, try the manual sending (Here).

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

T03

An invalid communication protocol has been received.

Send a fax again.

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

T05

The recipient cannot receive faxes.

After a sufficient amount of time has elapsed, resend a fax. If this error is not resolved, contact the recipient to check the status.

If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

T06

Could not establish a connection with the recipient.

Send a fax again.

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

Could not establish a connection with the recipient.

Could not establish a connection with the recipient.

A communication was disconnected because the numbers do not match due to the Check Dest. & Send function.

  • Check to see if the destination is correct.

  • Check that the fax number registered with the recipient is correct.

  • Set Check Dest. and Send to OFF; you may be able to send a fax (Here).

T50

A problem occurred during a communication with the remote diagnosis system.

Contact your service representative.

T51

An error was detected on this machine.

Turn the main power OFF and then ON, and send a fax again.

The Polling TX original is not registered in the recipient.

Check whether the document to be sent by polling from the bulletin board is registered (Here).

T62

The Bulletin Polling TX has failed.

The recipient does not specify the correct bulletin board box number. Inform the recipient of the correct bulletin board number.

T68

The recipient does not have the optional polling function.

Check that the recipient has the appropriate function.

T73

An error occurred during V34 communication.

Set V34 to OFF to send a fax again (Here).

Check that the machine is connected to the correct telephone line. Check that the machine is connected to the LINE terminal (Here).

Could not recognize the dial tone.

  • Try manual sending (Here).

  • Check that the machine is connected to the correct telephone line.

  • If you are using a PBX (private branch exchange), check the status of the PBX (Here).

T82

The recipient did not respond.

  • Check to see if the destination is correct.

  • Check that the recipient telephone number is for fax.

  • Check that the recipient can receive faxes.

T83

The recipient is on the phone or the address is incorrect.

  • The recipient may be busy, so send a fax again after a while.

  • Check whether the recipient telephone number is correct.

  • Try the manual sending (Here).

T84

The address is entered incorrectly or contains a number prohibited by the administrator.

  • In the address specification screen, enter only the recipient's telephone number following the outside line key.

  • Check the [PBX Connection Setting] (Here) or the [Register address input prohibition rule] (Here).

T85

An instantaneous interruption was detected.

A contact failure may occur on a telephone line. Check to see if the line is disconnected.

T86

Could not correctly recognize the dial tone.

Try manual sending (Here).

If this error persists even after manual sending, the PBX (private branch exchange) or TA may be malfunctioning (Here).

T89

The balance is insufficient.

Check the amount or frequency displayed near the coin slot or card slot of the billing management device.

T90

The line used for sending is not specified.

Specify the line that is used for sending (Here).

Cannot send a fax from the specified line.

Change the line that is used for sending (Here).

T95

An instantaneous interruption was detected.

A contact failure may occur on a telephone line. Check to see if the line is disconnected.

Reception system error code

If the machine encounters a problem while receiving a G3 fax, an error dialog will appear and error codes will be displayed in Rxx format. Take corrective actions by referring to the table below.

If a fax is not resent, ask the sender to resend the fax.

If this error is not resolved, there may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact your service representative.

A communication with the sender was interrupted.

Could not receive a fax because there is not enough free space in the box.

The erroneous User Box is displayed with a warning message. Delete unnecessary documents in the box (Here).

Could not receive a fax with the Closed Network RX function (Here) because the password was not correct.

Set the Closed Network RX function to OFF in Administrator Settings, or ask the sender to set the correct password and resend a fax.

R22

The Closed Network RX function (Here) is set, but the password was not notified.

Inform the sender of the Closed Network RX password, and ask them to specify the password. Ask the sender to resend a fax.

R24

A receiving error occurred.

There may be a problem with the line quality. If this error occurs repeatedly, contact the sender to check the status.

A receiving error was detected.

If this error occurs repeatedly, contact the sender to check the status.

R38

An error occurred during V34 communication.

V34 communication may not be possible because there is a problem with the line quality. If a fax is not resent, ask the sender machine side to set V34 to OFF and resend a fax.

Check that the Confidential RX User Box is registered properly (Here).

R94

An error was detected during Relay RX.

Check that the relay destination (Group) of the Relay User Box is registered properly (Here). Otherwise, inform the sender of the correct password, and ask them to resend a fax.

R96

An error was detected during Confidential RX, Relay RX, or PC-FAX RX.

Check that the Confidential RX (Here), Relay RX (Here), or PC-FAX RX (Here) User Box is registered properly. Otherwise, check whether the Relay RX function is turned off.

Inform the sender machine side of the correct User Box number.

R97

An error was detected during PC- FAX RX.

Check the communication password in PC-Fax RX Setting (Here). Then, inform the sender of the correct password, and ask them to resend a fax.

R99

Could not respond to an incoming call that was received.

Wait until a fax is resent from the sender machine side. If a fax is not resent, ask the sender to resend the fax.

* You may receive the page with a communication error detected again. The same original may be output, so be careful not to get an incorrect one. This is a redial control in the sender machine side, which is a normal operation.
