The machine with Perfect Binder PB-503 mounted automatically attaches a copied set with a cover paper to make a perfect-bound book, applying a dab of glue to the spine.
For details, refer to each of the following pages.
When Saddle Stitcher SD-513 is used together, the following functions are available.
Cover Fore-Edge Trimming
When [ON] is selected, the machine trims the cover by the amount automatically estimated from the following formula, in the range from 5 mm to 40.0 mm in 0.1 mm increments.
Trimming width = (Cover width) - (Body width 2) - (Spine width)
If the estimated amount exceeds 10 mm, the machine automatically trims the cover regardless of whether the trimming setting is determined.
Cover 2-Side Slitting
This function is available when Saddle Stitcher SD-513 equipped with Trimmer Unit TU-503 is mounted on this machine.
This function carries out 2-side slitting at the top for the cover that is loaded into a tray other than the cover tray of the perfect binder. The 2-side slitting is not available for the body.
The slitting amount can be specified between 8.0 mm and 26.0 mm in 0.1 mm increments.
The difference between the slitting amounts at the top is within 10.0 mm.
Crease
This function is available when Saddle Stitcher SD-513 equipped with Creaser Unit CR-101 is mounted on this machine.
Selecting [(3) Spine] makes two creases in the folded part on the spine cover.
Selecting [(4) Gutter] makes two creases in the gutter between the front and back covers to smoothly flip through pages in a binder. In this case, [Back] is only available for Crease.
Selecting [(3) Spine + (4) Gutter] makes two creases in each of the spine cover and gutter.
