Printed image quality is adjusted according to the type of the original.

The density level can be shifted in each of 7 modes of [Type]. For details, refer to Original Density Shift: Adjusting the Original Density Shift Amount.

Function appropriate for copying printed originals including both text and photo, such as a brochure and catalog.

Function appropriate for when the photo part of the original including both text and photo is printed on photographic paper.

Function appropriate for copying printed originals, such as a brochure and catalog. Reproduces half-tone photo images as much as possible, which can hardly be reproduced in normal mode.

Function appropriate for copying originals composed of text only. In this mode, the edges of copied texts are sharpened to provide higher legibility.

This function is available to copy an original with no contrast that looks as if it has been written using a pencil. You can obtain a clear image with good contrast.

Function appropriate for copying colored originals and originals with colored fine lines such as a map. Sharp copy images are provided.

  1. Position the original.

  2. Press the [COPY] tab to display the [COPY] screen.

  3. Press [Original Setting].

    The [Original Setting] screen is displayed.

  4. Select the desired mode key from [Type].

  5. Press [OK] to return to the [COPY] screen.

    • To restore the default setting, press [Default Set] and to restore the previous setting, press [Cancel].
